Recently, my vehicle's windshield was destroyed by a huge flying metal object. I called the insurance, the claim company informed me who I could use, I had to pay out-of-pocket and the replacement window was not the [Honda] original manufactured window.
I was given a second-rate window and the optics are screwy, literally. It looks like you're looking through a soda bottle and this distortion is below standard.

Why can't the insurance company pay for a quality replacement instead of cheating me out of the good money I earn and pay them for the insurance on my car!

Thank you for reading this long rant and the latter sentence, which is a run-on one. Mad

Admin,

I had this friend who had one of the Nissan Z cars. He got in a wreck on Grand Avenue in San Diego, as I remember. When the inferior generic parts were used to fix his car, my friend refused the job and made the place put in the better parts. So I wonder if you could make the insurance company use the original manufacturer's part since you find this generic window substandard. This is my question.

I totally wondered about this and yes, my insurance company did use the original manufacturer for the window, thus making the glass company do the job twice, this time with the glass company footing the bill. The job this time was under warranty.

The window that is of good quality was made by ppg and the "bad" window was made by fy.

Thanks for the post!
